SAM® Pelvic Sling - Military

Sheets, as well as commercial wraps are available, but all of these devices are inexact and provide no precise circumferential control.

The SAM® Pelvic Sling is a non-invasive, easy to use, reusable device which can be applied by medics at the scene or by medical staff in a hospital setting to individuals who have, or are suspected of having, a pelvic ring or lateral pelvic fracture. It effectively reduces and stabilises pelvic fractures in a rapid, simple, three step application, usually in less than one minute.

The Autostop buckle allows the ideal compression force (no greater than 33lbs); vital in high stress environments where over tightening could potentially be extreme and harmful. An audible 'click' provides clear feedback to confirm correct application and the sling is sized to fit (without cutting or trimming) 98% of the adult population.

A posterior slider facilitates transfers.

Radiolucent, MRI safe (at a MR system operating at 3-Tesla or less) and cleans for re-use with common detergents or anti-microbial solutions.
